Virgin River Social Trail

I am calling this trail the Virgin River Trail. It is not marked on any park map, official or unofficial. It is considered a “Social Trail” meaning, so many people walk this section, a path has formed. While the park service does not maintain this trail, they also do not discourage the use of the trail. The trail is less than 1 mile long and connects the Zion Lodge foot bridge (shuttle stop number 5) with the Grotto foot bridge (shuttle stop number 6). This is an easy trail with excellent views of the canyon walls with the Virgin River in the foreground. Be sure to look both up river and down river, regardless which direction you are hiking.

I did this as part of a loop hike with the Emerald Pools Trail and the Kayenta Trail. This was the last section of the loop making the hike perfect.
