Hike Info:

The trail is easy to follow.  This is also a popular mountain bike trail so stay alert.

The Long Canyon Trail is about 3.5 miles long and travels a section of desert not within the Secret Mountain Wilderness that surrounds it. I hiked a 1.1 mile section as part of a loop hike with the Mescal Trail and the Deadmans Pass Trail. The section I did was easy. The trail was not rocky and provided some really nice views off to the left and straight in front as I walked toward Long Canyon rd.  You can pick up this trail at the Long Canyon Trailhead on Long Canyon rd or from the Mescal Trailhead by hiking a .3 mile connector trail.
