The Chorrillo Del Salto is a beautiful waterfall about one mile from the end of town. There is a parking area if you have a car. If not, walk to the end of town where the Laguna De Los Tres trailhead is located. Follow the dirt road to the right for one mile. The trail starts from the parking area and is very easy to follow the lower falls is the highest and only about a half mile from the trail head. My first visit was in the evening. The sun had already set over the ridge so it made for some nice low light level photos. Be sure to bring a tripod.
The trail ends near the base of the falls on the left. To get a full view of the falls, you have to follow a social trail that weaves in and out of thickets along the stream. Pick you shot.
I returned the following day to explore further upstream. There is no official trail however, social trails on the left lead up the side to several ledges to overlook the falls. The social trail follows the edge upstream for about another mile. You will encounter three more waterfalls. At the second falls, there is a way to descend to the stream for some great shots. On a clear day you can see the top of Fitzroy. The trail fades out around the third waterfall. Return the way you came.
Photography tip: Early morning is the best time to view the falls. The sun will be to your back. A polarizing filter is a good idea.
