Hike Info:

This is a social trail that is not maintain but gets a lot of foot traffic.  Trail crosses creek several times.  Water shoes are helpful.

This trail is located in Red Rock Crossing – Crescent Moon Ranch.  Remnants of the Ranch can still be found throughout the park.  There are picnic tables in shaded areas for you to enjoy lunch before or after your swim.

From the parking area, follow the paved trail.  There are several locations that have a short path to the creek.  The first swimming hole is typically very crowded because of it’s close proximity to the parking area.  Continue up stream and the next two swimming holes offer a little more privacy and nice slickrock bench to hang out and enjoy the scenery.

For even more privacy, continue further up stream.  The trail becomes shaded with trees and plenty of raspberry bushes.  The next two swimming holes are shaded and much quieter than the previous two.

This is a very popular park with locals and visitors.  There is usually a long wait to enter.  I waited 45 minutes one late afternoon.  The parking is controlled by park staff and will not let you drive in unless there is a parking spot available.  There is a $10 fee to enter and the best time of day is in the late afternoon if you want to photograph Cathedral Rock.
