Dorr Mountain Summit

 

The summit of Dorr Mountain can be reached from several different trails. I reached the summit from the south ridge. You can also reach the summit on trails from the north ridge, the Gorge Path and the Schiff Path. The summit is 1270 feet high and has great views of Bar Harbor to the east and Cadillac Mountain to the immediate west. There is an unfortunate pile of rocks marking the summit with signs pointing the direction of different trails. The pile of rocks is large and overkill. This is obviously not done by the park service.

The day I reached the summit it was clear but very windy. Be prepared for cool temperatures as the wind blows air off the ocean and it tends to be rather cold.
